Our Mission
At SCHO, we believe health insurance information should be understandable and readily accessible to all. By providing free-of-cost educational materials and informational sessions to underinsured populations, we aim to demystify the enrollment process, help individuals and families navigate the healthcare system, and expand coverage in Los Angeles and beyond.
Executive Board
Nicholas Kim
President
Nicholas Kim is a junior studying biomedical engineering. He is from Simi Valley, California. In his free time he enjoys calisthenics, playing guitar, and loves working with AI. Outside of SCHO, Nic is the VP of Health for the Grand Challenges Scholars Program and the undergraduate chair of the Neuroimaging in Aging Research Group.
He joined SCHO because he believes there is a significant gap between the quality of healthcare in the US to the access of healthcare and wants to help make a direct effort to solve this issue.
Tina Lam
Director of Events
Tina Lam is a senior studying Human Biology. She is from the Bay Area, California. In her free time she enjoys triathlon, reading, and exploring. She joined SCHO because she is passionate about bridging the gap in healthcare disparities and wanted to start locally.
Kyle Wang
Director of Fundraising and Social Media
Kyle Wang is a junior from Leawood, Kansas with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Business Finance.
Outside of SCHO, he is involved with SCout, Dornsife FYM, KDSAP, and the Tower Lab. Additionally, he loves to explore flea markets, exercise, and try new food spots.
He joined SCHO to learn more about healthcare accessibility and to apply that knowledge by helping those without the necessary resources to obtain health insurance.
Srilekha Davuluri
Director of New Member Education
Srilekha is a sophomore from Fishers, Indiana majoring in Health and Human Sciences. Outside of SCHO, she is in Partners in Health Engage and Trojan Research Association. While not pursuing her dream to be a doctor interested in health advocacy, Srilekha likes playing tennis and swimming in her free time.
“I joined SCHO, because I believe a right to healthcare is a fundamental right. By helping sign people up for health insurance, we get closer to everyone having access to healthcare.”
Avi Pandit
Co-Director of Projects
Avi Pandit is a junior from Cupertino, California majoring in Neuroscience. In his free time, he loves to play basketball, cook, and explore the outdoors.
He joined SCHO to address the disparity of quality and availability in healthcare within the Downtown and South Central LA communities.
Ryan Johnson
Co-Director of Projects
Ryan Johnson is a Junior from Scottsdale, AZ. He is studying Human Biology with a minor in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. When he has free time he enjoys powerlifting, exploring the food spots in LA, and playing Minecraft. He joined SCHO to help remove the barriers to healthcare access in underserved communities.
Katelyn Lopez
Secretary
Katelyn Lopez is a junior from Downey, California majoring in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. Outside of SCHO, Katelyn is also involved in Science Outreach and Alpha Epsilon Delta. Aside from engaging with the local USC community, she enjoys exercising, cooking, and spending time with friends.
